About Lone Star College Cy-Fair Suppy Chain Industry Organization

The Supply Chain Industry Organization (SIDO) was established in order to promote involvement between students and industry. The goal of SIDO is to enable the student to have greater connections to industry and gain a better understanding of the world of logistics technology, especially through interaction with Houston-area logistics organizations.Through SIDO, students gain a greater exposure to the basic principles of physical distribution, logistics, traffic and transportation and industrial marketing communication strategies in advertising, industrial sales, consumer sales, transportation, quality control, operations control, and purchasing/procurement.

Benefits of SIDO Membership

SIDO offers students help in their academic pursuits by assisting members in choosing courses and instructors. Since there are many SIDO members, who have a junior or senior standing, freshman and sophomore students can often attain help in classes they may have trouble in, by interacting with other members. Also through interaction, students can buy books from other members in order to help defray their cost.

As with any student club or organization, SIDO has numerous committees (social, professional development, activities, and membership) to help the members to become more involved with the organization and gain a better understanding of the industrial distribution world. SIDO also offers social events, plant tours, seminars, guest speakers,Furthermore, members will have the opportunity to meet important people in the industry, recruiters, other students and most of all, have fun while preparing for their career. Being a member of SIDO gives the logistics graduate an "extra edge" needed for a successful career in the supply chain world.

All majors welcome!
